The Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts (MACA) will be hosting their (15th) annual conference, May 14 – 18, 2012 at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis, MA. This conference is open to officers, crime analysts, intelligence analysts, command staff, chiefs, etc. The theme of this year’s conference will DDACTS (Data-Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety).
Past attendees and speakers include Bill Bratton, Ed Davis, Rana Sampson, John Miller, Chief Charles Ramsey (Philadelphia PD) and many other law enforcement professionals. This year’s keynote speaker will be Marcus J. Young. Young is a military veteran and served 20-years in law enforcement. He earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco, CA . In 2004, President George W. Bush and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger awarded Marcus a Medal of Valor following an officer involved shooting incident. Since 2009, Marcus has presented the FBI LEOKA program to more than 14,000 law enforcement and military personnel throughout the United States, Guam, and Italy. In 2012, the FBI LEOKA Program has presentations scheduled throughout the United States.
